Hey, everyone, this is Chloe from Chloe Pitterson Photography. Welcome to today's Live and Happy Friday. We're starting a little later because I was having some issues with setting things up. One day I won't be having those issues, but we are here. So today I have it formatted a little differently.
Please bear with me. I have some slides so that if you can't hear me all the way, they'll be there to support the live. And also, if you just can't understand what I'm saying, it's nice to have some visual text there for you to see. So let's start.
All right, today's piece that we're going to talk about is from the Hands of Opportunity series that I created. And we're going to be talking about the specific piece titled Hands of Opportunity II, which is the limited edition fine art photograph piece that I created.
Okay. So what inspired the collection? This series for me is about taking opportunities that are presented to us in our day to day lives and creating our lives based on a greater vision that we hold for ourselves. The series explores the theme of opportunity and using resources that we have at our disposal to fulfill our goals and ultimately what we want in life.
The hands in the series symbolize creation because with our hands, we use it to physically create things in our life. Like, we use our hands to cook. We use our hands for everything that we want to touch and get a hold of. So the hands literally represent us physically creating things, and they also symbolize the creation and power that we have with our mind and thoughts to create our world reality. So with that, the hands symbolize our power to create whatever we want in life.
In the process of creating this particular image, which also kind of pertains to the series as well, I went through so much effort to find gold paint for this. I couldn't find paint that would have the reflective qualities that I was particularly looking for. I probably bought, I don't know, like five different types of gold paint before I finally found one online. I wish I had the bottle to show you because it was a dry powder, like body paint. It was so messy too. It literally went everywhere. But it was hard because I took the photos of my own hands. I was painting it and then using my other hand to get the photograph from above it. In the end Ifinally got it. And I really love this shot. What I love about this particular piece which I’ve recently realized, is that you can switch the position of how it's displayed. It can be displayed horizontally as you saw before or vertically as it's presented now which I really love. I don't have a lot of pieces in my fine art series and collection in which they work being horizontal and vertical, that's a really cool feature about this.
Also, as you can see, this is a photograph of my left hand. The symbolism of what is said to be with the left hand is that because it's on the left side of your body, it's on the side of your body where your heart is. Your left hand represents our femininity and feminine energies, our Yin energy and our receptivity. So I really like that. I think it's really beautiful and a cool fact.
By the way, if you guys have any questions, you can ask me below and I'll answer them. This particular piece is available in two sizes and part of a limited edition collection where there are 35 pieces in total. The 20” X 30” print is an addition of 25 and that's for $1650. Then there's a size larger than that which is 30” X 45” or if you place it vertically it's going to be 45” X 30”. Either way, it's an addition of 10 pieces only and that's for $3715.
If you are looking to own your own limited edition fine art print from this series or any other, if you're catching this live now, there is a link in my bio. It's going to take you right to this particular piece from today's live or if you're catching this video at another time, you can go to my website at chloepitterson.com and then click on the shop art tab and it will be in my Hands of Opportunity series and this particular piece is called the Hands of Opportunity II.
All right, well, if there are no questions, I just want to say thank you for joining me. Thank you for watching and I look forward to seeing you at the next live or video. Have a beautiful weekend.
