New Fine Art Photography Series Update: When You Squeeze An Orange

Hi!

I am excited to share with you the release of my new fine art photographs that have been added to my “When You Squeeze an Orange”.

The series started in 2015. I was inspired by the Wayne dyer quote:

“When you squeeze an orange, you’ll always get orange juice to come out. What comes out is what’s inside. The same logic applies to you: when someone squeezes you, puts pressure on you, or says something unflattering or critical, and out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, tension, depression, or anxiety, that is what’s inside. If love and joy are what you want to give and receive, change your life by changing what’s inside.”

I love this message because it’s such a wonderful reference for self reflection. It reminds me how much people really are a mirror to ourselves and that we learn about ourselves through the experiences we have with other people.

The Start of the Series

The series started off with 4 images. And the first fruit was an orange as direct symbolism to the reference it was inspired by. I really love the start of the series. It very moody and gives the emotional context that when we get squeezed there is a potential for darker emotions to come out of us. Darker emotions being anger, jealously, or fear.

Here are the first 4 fine art photographs created in this series:

The Expansion of this Fine Art Photography Series

The expansion of this series came about as I and the entire world quarantined for what would be 2 years of out lives. That is the last I will discuss of quarantine in this post, as I believe we are all really over it.

BUT, during this time I was given the opportunity to reflect back on this series and I knew that I wanted to expanded it. I wanted to expand it and also visually take the viewer on a sequential journey. I also knew that I wanted these to be very large format pieces and thus the new project began.

Behind The Scene Photos from the Creation of this Series

Needless to say but when your project involves squeezing a lot of fruit, it gets messy!

So you see that plum there? I tested it out to be part of the series and it DID NOT WORK. Apparently strongmen strength to squeeze plums.

And…

that’s not me.

So, no plums in the series.

The raw images from the shoot. A quick run through :)

After the testing of different fruits and shooting. I took the images into photoshop and got to work. I edited each photo individually and then combined them into an aesthetic sequential order that I liked. The results are really HUGE fine art photo prints that are perfect for decorating spaces with beauty and meaning.
