The Struggle of Creation Series is a photographic series that explores the theme of the creative process: the questioning to the leap of faith. I remember the first photo shoot I had with a model I had scouted. I was so nervous, like what if the pictures come out horrible, if all the lighting sucks, etc. Then we had the shoot and it was so much fun! I wish I could say the nerves ended there but then I had to edit them...and then I had to put them online and then I had to show them to people so I could get more work. Oh boy, I tell you nothing makes me feel more seen/uncovered/or bare then showing my art to others. It's one of the most raw experiences I can feel and at the same time so liberating. I created this series to visually depict that internal condition that we feel at times when we are creating something new for the first time. Though we may feel unsure in the beginning, we must know and we trust our vision. In the end, that leap of faith into what we see is more important than whatever self generated fear we may have and we trust that the result will be beautiful.
